Welcome to Florida.
This is a Florida travel guide dedicated to helping you plan
your vacation to the great state of Florida. Florida has so
much to do and see that it some times can be confusing to
find information that can be useful and informative when
planning your vacation.
Florida's
Beaches
A day on the beach can be many things. It can be a
playground of activity equipped with fishing pier or
lighthouse, watersports rentals, food stands, hotels, and
all the makings for spectacular sand dusted fantasies.
Some
are cast off on untethered islands. Others buzz with the
resort activity. A beach for all reasons: Take your pick
from some of our coastline's superlative sands.
Salt Water Fishing
Southwest Florida has some of the best backwater fishing in
the state. For the uninitiated, backwater fishing, or
backcountry fishing, is angling in the extensive network of
bays, mangrove islands and tidal creeks that permeate the
region. There are thousands of miles of shoreline, countless
oyster bars and acres of seagrass beds that attract an
abundance of salt water fish.
Boating
in Florida
Florida has over 8,00 miles of coastline and 4,500
square miles of inland waterways, making it a paradise
for boaters. From mega-yachts to wooden skiffs, having
a boat is as normal as having a car for some
Floridians.
There
are over 700,000 registered boats in the state, the 3rd
highest rate in the country. The 135-mile Okeechobee
Waterway, which cuts through the state, is another popular
boating route, especially during the summer. It runs along
the St. Lucie Canal from Stuart, across Lake Okeechobee and
then on to Sanibel Island via the Caloosahatchee River.
